Set up server for Start9

Paul, I’m not a programmer or even good with computers. But, I’m setting up a server, as you demonstrated on YouTube, to run a node with bitcoin knots, Nostr, and lightning. I’m a complete novice. I have a fairly new laptop from Acer. It had widows 11, which I removed and then installed Linux Ubuntu. I’m using the NucBox G3, A-tech 16gb ram, Fikwok FX910 2TB MVMe.
I downloaded start9 to the NucBox. Im struggling through every step.
My problem is with the root CA. Multiple attemps have failed. I was hoping you might have an idea of what to do.
Thanks,
Sid

Ok, you are doing the Root CA step on the Ubuntu computer? If so, which browser are you using, Firefox or Chrome?

I started with Brave, had problems, changed over to Firefox. When the problem started with Root CA not being recognized, grok suggested to use chrome.
So I’m using Chrome.
I will get the terminal codes when im back at my computer

For Chrome (and probably Brave, I don’t have it myself but it is based on Chromium) you would go to this address:

chrome://settings/certificates

When that opens, click on Local Certificates

Then on the right, there should be a section called “Custom” with an item “Installed by you” (if you haven’t installed any yet, it might be labeled something else, but it will be under Custom).

Then on the next page that opens, click the Import button by “Trusted Certificates”, and select the .crt file that you downloaded from your server. Then you can refresh your server’s login page and it should show that the certificate is trusted.

Thanks Paul, I’ll give it a try.

Paul, your adice was right on the mark. Thanks
