I’m still running rc4 and it seems to work fine. Is there an advantage to updating to rc5? What if there are coins in the Knots wallet will they be wiped in a update?
no they wont be wiped. Make a backup anyway. I’d wait for the proper release, dont bother going from rc4 to rc5

One thing it adds is preferential peering with BLAKE2b nodes, so if you find your node getting stalled at the BIP-110 chain split point, then the upgrade might help. But no, updating shouldn’t wipe any wallets.
