My official Start9 registry

Since I have been building a number of custom Start9 services, I decided to have them all available in a single location, which will eliminate the need to side-load, and will come with notifications when I publish updates. I don’t have all of my services listed yet, but the main ones are (and I’ll be adding the remaining ones over the next few days)

To add my registry, go to the Marketplace section, click “Change”, then “Add Custom Registry”. Enter one of the following URLs:

For StartOS 0.3.5.1: https://start9-035.paulscode.com

For StartOS 0.4.0: https://start9.paulscode.com

NOTE: Clicking on the above links does nothing useful. They are not meant to be opened in a browser. They are only meant to be loaded into the StartOS marketplace as a Custom Registry. The number by each link is the count of people here on the forum who clicked on the link and were probably confused.

Bumping topic so it is near the top for today’s video.

Paul attempting to download on start9 and it fails to complete, gets about 90% downloading then stops and gives the error “network error:error decoding response body”. I tried it a couple times with the same result, any settings I need to adjust here?

Which service has the error?

its the mempool bip110

Bip-110 mempool and forktower won’t download and install 0.4

Network Error: failed to download package from any mirror: https://start9.paulscode.com/s9pk/forktower-0.6.12-040.s9pk: Network Error: error decoding response body: error reading a body from connection: end of file before message length reached; https://start9.paulscode.com/s9pk/forktower-0.6.12-040.s9pk: Network Error: error decoding response body: error reading a body from connection: end of file before message length reached; https://start9.paulscode.com/s9pk/forktower-0.6.12-040.s9pk: Network Error: error decoding response body: error reading a body from connection: end of file before message length reached

What device are you installing them onto? (in case there is an issue with an architecture)

How much RAM does your system have? How much free disk space? (in case of resource constraints)

What (if any) errors do you see?

Also, make sure you refresh the page (so that the lastest version is listed), because I prune old versions to save space (only one latest version is ever available to download, so if it tries an older version it will fail)

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad with 1.7TB to the virtual machine, 48GB RAM

Network Error: failed to download package from any mirror: https://start9.paulscode.com/s9pk/forktower-0.6.12-040.s9pk: Network Error: error decoding response body: error reading a body from connection: end of file before message length reached;

Definitely used the latest version.

Yes, that is the previous version (0.6.12) that it is trying to download. Can you do a hard refresh on the market page, and see if it tries to download the latest (0.6.13)?

I’m trying again, but I’m sure it was the latest at the time. Same error with bip110 mempool for several weeks.

It may be something to do with your browser or the network itself. You might be able to determine which by attempting to do the installation from a different device (say your phone). That would rule out anything old cached in the browser tripping it up.

If that doesn’t work, then I would try (if you haven’t already) shutting down all of your services in reverse order of their dependencies on each other, and then click the menu in the top-right to Restart your server. Once it boots back up, see if you can install the apps while everything else is stopped.

Great making first back up of 0.4 startos. Afterwards I’ll try again. Agent wallet acting up as well. One last problem I’m having is an wallet balance error from old wasabi wallet to new sabi wallet. Old legacy wasabi woun’t open, I realized I hadn’t backed up the wallet. I used the seed to restore on Sabi, had wrong balance though, tried to change from 21 to 100, keeps running haven’t seen new attempt to show correct balance…any suggestions would be appreciated.. Ducked coldcard bullet, now trying to recover from 0.35 to 0.4 before bip110 activation

what’s the number next to the registries? Is that the number of nodes connected?

That’s the number of unique users/IP addresses which clicked the link. BTW, those links don’t take you anywhwere interesting (the 0.4.0 one even 404’s). These aren’t meant to be opened in a browser. They only work as registries in StartOS.

BTW, I have stopped maintaining the 0.3.5.1 registry, and after some time I will be decommissioning it. I’ll leave it up for a while, but the applications in it will not get any new updates. I highly encourage everyone who is still on StartOS 0.3.5.1 to upgrade to 0.4.0.1. I can help with the upgrade if anyone has trouble.

81 seems rather low - how many flavors of Blake2B for StartOS are out there now I wonder? Obvious question why hasn’t Luke Dashjr released a repo ( or maybe he has its just not part of StartOS offerings yet )

Haha, since the link goes nowehere, 81 is way to high. That means 81 people here on the form clicked on that link and it took them nowhere because it is not meant to be loaded into a browser.

I updated the OP to make note of that, since I’m sure the 81 people were confused when they clicked and nothing opened.

ah okay I see; what I was really wondering is how many blake2B nodes there are running.
