Still no payout??? Something aint right
Yes, it failed on mine as well (same error message about “Could not find route without excessive cost”). I had moved the fee rate down to 0.1%. I’ll try putting it at the default 0.0001%. If it still fails, then the problem is most likely high fee rates on my other channel partners.
I may need to open some additional channels to create more routes into my LND node. Any good suggestions for nodes that you guys have channels with?
It looks like a mess but works well. I could probably drop the small channels but right now Im in a holding pattern as I have no apparent issues. The start9’s are the three channels from LND to CL.
Note: I gave witness protection to @Fletcher node. I haven’t heard from him in a long while
No payout as yet. I’ve gone in via RtL and disabled all except the most recent offer.
Ocean error messages show late attempted payout as yesterday…
I’m way behind the curve on creating and managing channels but willing to jump in with a 3k of sats.
How many sats are sitting in the payout window for you? (you don’t have to share if you don’t want to) The reason I ask is I just don’t think 3000 sats is going to be near enough to change anything
Trying to get 50,100 sats earned off the first wallet I used. tbh I need to crack this so I can up my Ocean game to Datum
Since your connection to the wider Lightning network is through my LND node, I’ll need to resolve the issue with it. I lowered the fee all the way down to 1 sat per million, but still received the error from Ocean (so issue is likely high fee rates on my channel partners). I added a 1 million sat channel with Megalithic’s main node and rebalanced to open some inbound liquidity on that channel. Waiting to see if the next Ocean payout goes through.
You’ll have to wait as I see now OCEAN has unusable path issues. It seems to happen every couple of weeks or when there is a mass of blocks in the window. Currently there are 15 blocks in the pay window.
My assumption is when there are lots and lots of large payouts over Lightning they have to re-balance their pay channels. In my observations it always works it self out within 2-3 days at most
This mornings error:
Failed: We could not find a usable set of paths.
This one has me confused. You changed your wallet address after the payout had sats sitting in it?
I suppose max htlc size could also be a bottleneck (would mainly affect large amounts though, not something small like 50k sats). One way to fix that would be for me to open more channels, but better is probably to change it in the config and then close/ reopen new channels with the new max htlc settings. Maybe can be done via the RPC for existing channels without recreating them. I’ll investigate this if the problem is still happening.
Kinda of… I’ve moved the hashing to a new CLN wallet. The 50,100 is on my original wallet ref which I now have control of via Sparrow so am able to create the Bolt12 offer. Just trying to get them sats across to draw a line under my original foray.
I’m conscious of the fact that every move you make costs sats… and time
With the current rent-a-hash environment I noticed that OCEAN jumped from 13 EH/s average to just under 22 Eh/s (last night). I also noticed that miner capitulation is getting ready to flip…good times ahead. ![]()
The striped blocks were mined using the Datum protocol (where the user built their own block templates). The blue blocks were mined using the Stratum protocol (where Ocean built the block template).
Another thing that will probably confuse you, if you mouse over a striped block, it will be labeled as “Solo mined using Datum”. This is Luke DashJr re-defining terms – what he calls “solo mined using Datum” is not what most people think of when they talk about “solo mining”. Because of this, I’ve started using the term “lotto mining” for folks who are not pool mining, so that it cannot be confused with the re-defined “solo mined using Datum” (which is pool mining).
Thank you. Do you also know if you are the one to hit the block, do you get a little bonus reward? Or treated like any other pool member? Ocean doesn’t really have much helpful information on their website I must say…i’m not a big x user so i’m not going to @ them.
Yes. If your hash hits a block you are aware in your stats at the bottom of your stats page and the block in your graph is colored orange. You must be on YOUR stats page to see the colored orange block.
As for the reward…you are in a pool so the hash shares you dedicate you are payed based on your shares YOU contributed. See the top of your stats page for these details: Shares In Reward Window, Estimated Rewards In Window and Estimated Earnings Next Block.
You can see what ever miner is doing…look at Penguins stats for an idea. OCEAN - Statistics - 1LgGeuNU4ttigpJNdnqNdmiwVMfMUET894 Notice their stats with 819 Ph/s - over 4000 workers (ASIC’s). Not all of them are online at present but as you can see from the stats they collect about $10K (today’s BTC to USD) ever time a block is mined on the pool. They do not have to mine the block to get that…I could mine the block or you..it doesn’t matter. What matters is Shares in Reward Window. With that in mind..the screen shot above reflects roughly around $300K (30 blocks)
For more info on how OCEAN pays you should read about TIDES. OCEAN - TIDES Technical Documentation.
You guys are awesome, thank you!
It is possible to hit a block…100 Th/s - only machine they have. OCEAN - Statistics - bc1qgnpj6gsh5cchmard3umcfky2fgv396kqlwdwc6
Actually - the miner has been on for awhile and has found 2 blocks- once in 2024 and just now. Must have a very good machine
