I downloaded the x-86_64.tar.gz file and was able to verify the file, it said ok after the file name. I’ve got the file extracted, but I’m not that good with Linux and not sure how to install it. I searched online and everything I found didn’t seem to help. I installed regular Sparrow about a year ago but I think it was a different kind of file. Any help is appreciated.
I didn’t create the installers, to save on build time and complexity. It is just a standalone application. Unzip it, place the folder wherever you like, and then go into the “bin” folder and double click “sparrow” to launch it.

I tried to connect it to my Fulcrum (Blake2b) that I installed from the mempool.guide repo on start9 and it says could not connect: The server is following a chain that has not changed its proof of work. I was going to use Electrs pruned for Knots 256 comp. and Fulcrum b2b for Knots full node. Will that not work? I didn’t want to resync every time if I switched elctrs pruned between the two nodes.
It should work, but I’m still waiting for Fulcrum to finish indexing (it takes days for this stage to complete – this is why I prefer electrs which is way more efficient, haha). So I haven’t been able to test yet. Once it finishes indexing and I can test it, then I’ll see if there is a bug with Sparrow (BLAKE2b) detecting that it is on the correct chain when connecting to it.

When updating to a new version on Linux, do just delete the old extracted folder and extract the new version. I haven’t created a wallet yet so it doesn’t matter this time, but in the future after I have wallets how do you get them to carry over to the new version?
All your wallets and settings data will go into a subfolder under your home folder (~/.sparrowblake2b/) so it is safe to delete the extracted folder and extract a new version without losing your data.

I just tried to send a few sats from my Knots wallet to the Sparrow B2b wallet got the error from Knots:
RPC ERROR: Action Failed Error: bitcoin-cli failed with exit code 1: error: Error parsing JSON: .01
Is there a setting or something in Knots I need to change?
I got it to work. I’m not sure what was the solution. I reset rpc and mempool settings back to default and on the first attempt I tried to send .01 coins this time I sent 0.01 coins. I think it might have been the 0.01 instead of .01.
