HashGG on Umbrel

Hey Paul,

You know it was coming!! Just saw Matt’s video and your tunnel tool was called out! Congrats!!!

I’m not on Start9, but on Umbrel, but would love to get this tunnel set up. Is it compatible, or available on umbrel?

My own setup is a little tricky. My ISP won’t provide fixed IP, and inside on NAT, and I have a Unify gateway inside my network. So, tunneling out seems to be the only way to manage this. Even the DDNS on the unify router won’t work because of the double NAT. :frowning:

So, any help is appreciated!

Yes, I am building an Umbrel version and a Docker version (to run on Linux, Mac, or Windows). Stay tuned.

So HashGG is the route to take I suspect for creating a tunnel then? Seems easy enough. I hadnt realized you had released it.

Yes, I’m planning to do a more detailed video where I officially release it (which will include the anonymous VPS setup for those who are concerned about privacy). Matthew asked if he could include it in his video today, which I think is a good idea (even though it isn’t perfect yet), just because the alternate methods are technically challenging for most. The drawback is now the spotlight is on me to make sure this thing is solid and reliable :smiley:

I do think I’ll hold of on the request I made to you in DM last week and see what transpires at the public level. What Matthew demonstrated seems pretty straight forward (although he used beta 0.4.0). my take-a-way from that assume that you have to open a port if you run the app on 0.3.5~1?

Definitely will watch your (spaces) for a follow up to this as it is on my MUST do list..NOT maybe list.
