Epic SC200 report

I rececently got a epic sc200 miner and got it up and running. It seems to work but the accepted shares coming in are very slow compared to the goldshell hs-box I also have. The epic miner only gets an accepted share about once every 3-5 minutes, while the hs-box will get about 80-100 accepted shares in the same time. Datum recognizes that the epic miner is connected and shows it’s accepted shares, but never shows it’s hashrate.

Probably should upgrade to the 4.0.0 firmware.

I got the firmware upgraded to 4.0.0 and it is much better now, the hash rate is displaying too. It is still slower than the hs-box with accepted shares, even with the epic miners higher hash rate. This thing is energy inefficient per hash rate compared to the hs-box.

Yes, not the most efficient. Did you see in the new firmware that you get MANY more (17) levels of efficiency (power use) on the SC200, from 1300w down to 500w? The Goldshell’s seem to be better optimized. Hey, at least I got a miner to test with and hope that demand encourages improved mining hardware developed for Blake2b in the future.

Yeah I did see all the different performance levels. I’ll probably run it on one of the ultra efficiency modes to keep the fan quieter since I have it inside a spare bedroom atm. Not a lot of options for buying miners right now.
