I’m planning a small portfolio site for some freelance illustration work I do on the side, and I’ve been looking into no-code and AI website builder options since I don’t want to maintain a full stack for something this simple. The part I keep getting stuck on is email: I’d want a custom domain address, and I’m not sure whether these builders bundle email hosting or whether I’d need to set up forwarding and DNS records separately. I also worry about lock-in if I ever want to move the site elsewhere, since I’ve read that some platforms make exporting content awkward. I’m not looking for anything fancy, just a clean page and reliable mail. For those of you who’ve set up a small site through one of these tools, how did the email side work out, and did any of you regret the choice later?
