Datum server mining pools

My Start9 with Datum is actively connected to Ocean.xyz. Are there other pools to connect to for better pay outs? If so, do you have a recommendation and steps for migration to that pool?

OCEAN is by far the best pool for payouts

I believe Ocean is still the only pool to implement Datum, even though the protocol is open source. I think Ocean will have to prove themselves and start sapping a lot of hash rate from the other big pools before any will sit up and take notice. The trend is in the right direction, but it will take time (protocol changes like this tend to start slow and gain momentum through the network effect)

And it is also difficult for new pools to launch, because of their initially low hash rate, so they have unreliable payout schedules at first. We may see other new pool pop up that support Datum, but I think adoption by other established pools will probably happen first.

OCEAN does have a lot of hashrate - #11 at an average of 13.3 Eh/s

But the top ones are huge in comparison:

|1|Foundry USA 280.90 Eh/s
|2|AntPool 163.78 Eh/s
|3|ViaBTC 126.64 Eh/s
|4|F2Pool|101.88 Eh/s
|5|SpiderPool |84.74 Eh/s
…

[11]OCEAN 13.3 Eh/s
[12] Braiins Pool 11.43Eh/s

Total of 20 top pools is 959.81 EH/s

A looong way to go for sure before OCEAN gets into top 5

All of them but OCEAN and Braiins dictate your template, except stratum for Braiins, and many of them create empty blocks.

As for Datum I think you are right…but Braiins does have stratumv2 but not applicable to all miners…so there is that option. Braiins stratum (dictated template) is probably good for low hash miners…49 sats per 1 TH/s for people looking for constant payouts…but OCEAN’s Estimated Rewards In Window and Shares In Reward Window is what separates them from the rest…meaning if you turn off your miners you still get payouts until the window(s) expire.
