Cannot copy from Sparrow to Ocean

  1. From Ocean: Press Copy or Highlight and press ctl+C

  1. In Sparrow Wallet try to paste:
Only pastes what has been pasted before or random clipboard actions.

  2. On some occasions I am able to paste in the Ocean description, however, I cannot copy the Sparrow Signature to Ocean.
I have tried this from my Start9 Server as well as from the Tor .onion browser.

What operating system and browser are you using?

It is running on a Start9 Server which interfaces using FireFox. I can also access the server remotely using Tor browser with the same behavior from my Windows 11 machine.

Ok, just to clarify, you are running Sparrow (the webtop “service”) on the Start9 server itself, correct?

If you are running the Sparrow “service” on Start9, then that is running in a self-contained Linux system called Webtop. It doesn’t share its clipboard with the host machine (Windows 11 + Firefox in your case). You have to use a tool in Webtop to pass text in and out of the webtop environment.

You can pull out the Webtop tools by clicking on a tab on the left side of the page:

And then open the Clipboard tool. From here, you can copy text in and out of the Webtop environment:

Think of this clipboard as the DMZ between North and South Korea. Information can only pass between the two system’s clipboards via this interface. It is a bit clunky and non-intuitive, so you’ll have to play around with the order of pasting, selecting, and/or copy hotkeys until you get a feel for how to get information to pass one direction or the other.

Thanks Paul. I tried that but had issues. Most likely because it is a strange interface.

Just having you confirm that use of the apps clipboard made me rethink the process and 2 minutes later I was finished! Thanks again, Don
