Braiins Hashpower Orderbook - Do you constantly lower your bid price if the price goes down?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but my understanding of the Braiins Hashpower order book is that I can create a bid at a fixed BTC/EH/day price and my bid will be fulfilled at that price if there is a willing seller for that price. However, if my bid lasts for multiple days and the market fluctuates and all of a sudden the asking price for hashpower drops what happens?

Do I just keep paying the higher bid price I created my order with?

Do I need to keep track of the pricing and manually edit my order bid so that I am not over paying?

How do you guys handle this?

First - I created a Dashboard that I side-loaded to my Start9 to have everything in one place, like (network hashrate, difficulty current/forecast, Ocean pool hashrate, hash price and Hash Ribbon (30D vs 60D hashrate moving average). I use these indicators to have a clear picture from a operational miners point of view.

With that in mind - to your question…I don’t chase hashprice unless I see 1000 sat drops/raises or the bid moves higher than my order. Currently hashprice is 35$ USD which is around 46,600 sats. I had to move my bid up to 47,200 sats (which is 36$ USD) this morning. So right now the market place is willing to pay more than the going rate - kinda how Braiins envisioned it to work.

Right this moment I see a user paying 60300 (46$ USD) for one week @ 1 Ph/s. That is a losing strategy when it comes to gaining sats but maybe their strategy is to fight the war and damned the sats. Who knows.?

If you wanna fight the good fight and keep margins tight (close to market rate hashprices) as you can try to stay in the middle of the Order Book and stay as close to hashprice as I can. Don’t make a lot of changes to your order…ie don’t chase it for 100 sats difference.

As always you are your own person and you will do what you do…but that’s how I handle things.

Oh, and I would never pay 10$ over market rate for hash. Cheaper to buy a few Antminer S21 Pro’s and host them for .05 per kilo watt hours. That is actually a better sat machine but the barrier is higher…gotta buy your own miners.

Someone really got dropped on their head when they were younger..

Current hash rate is around 34$ USD. The 2 bids above are approaching 130.00$ USD :eyes:
