Found a couple places to buy one of these Goldshell miners. All seem to be from China. Not sure which vendors are reputable. What vendor did you guys purchase your miners from? Recommendations?
I don’t know about these miners or any of the Chinese companies selling them (I am sure there are a few legit companies willing to sell from China if you’re willing to wait), but I would never buy any miner from any company I wasn’t already familiar with, who sells from the US. Too many companies out there who are either outright scams or will take your payment and make very little effort to ensure you receive a working miner (for instance, if it arrives broken, oh well). Another common scam is to sell miners that aren’t in stock and then make you wait forever since it generally takes 2-4 weeks to get anything from China anyway.
The chances of getting rugged increase exponentially if the only payment they take is bitcoin/crypto. Because the payment is final.
i got a goldshell sc-lite from jinglemining, they have safer payment methods. Everything went well. Sc-lite are on pre-order now and the price has gone way up though
On the website it appears they only accept crypto or bank transfer. Which is the safer payment method you mentioned?
cant exactly remember all the types of bank transfers they accept but for example I used payssion payid. Most of those asic sites only accept a non refundable generic international bank transfer where you have to put in the address of their bank etc.
i should also add that I had to send them photo ID as proof of my identity so beware because they only ask for it after you’ve made the order and are about to pay
