Issue with Pickhash/Datum/Ocean Dashboard when mining with MRR via Umbrel

Hello Everyone,

I have an encountered an issue whilst mining with MRR and I was hoping someone could help.
I followed Paul’s guide on mining with MRR via Pickhash and Datum on an Umbrel server. Everything seemed to be working well. I set up everything on HashGG, linked it to Pickhash, rented some miners, and got connections and accepted shares on Datum. However, when I would try to search for my address on the Ocean Dashboard, it would not appear. I waited for several hours but still nothing on the dashboard. I thought it could be an issue with the tunnel, so I tried to switch it on HashGG, but despite the change, it continued as before. However, I noticed that on the Dashboard, my address did appear now, but only for the fallback pool. I am assuming that during the switch on HashGG, Pickhash automatically changed to the fallback pool. So essentially I had a blip of hashing appear on the Ocean Dashboard during this interval. The new tunnel hashing stats didn’t show show up on the dashboard either.

I then switched the pool and port in Pickhash to Ocean’s default pool (stratum+tcp://mine.ocean.xyz:3334) and everything on Pickhash worked and I was again showing up on the Dashboard. But then I realized that on Datum, I was no longer seeing connections or accepted shares. And I assume this means that my template is no longer being used and that datum gateway is being skipped in someway.

So my question is, can someone please help me to resolve this so that I can mine through datum gateway and connect to the Ocean Dashboard without circumventing it?

This is my first post, so I am sorry for the long post and if the technical jargon was used incorrectly.

Take a look at the settings in PickHash down towards the bottom (as shown in the screenshot) and confirm that these look correct. Click on the ‘Test Endpoint’ button to confirm they are good.

Hello Shanks,

Thank you for your response.

I did what you mentioned in your reply before I wrote my initial post. Everything was green, connected, and seem to be working just fine, except for the connection from Datum to the Dashboard. Eventually though the problem was fixed, and currently everything is working the way it is supposed to. After I finished my first mining session (the one that wasn’t working correctly), I started another, and for some reason everything was suddenly working fine. So I am not exactly sure what the issue was, but whatever it was, it seems to be gone now.

Thanks again for trying to help, all the best.
