That’s actually an unexpected output. Block reporting only exists in 1.0.3, and 1.0.3 should report gateway commit e0437de6, while the above reports ab3e922c.
Which version of the app are you on? Did the block lines and the share lines come from the same session? I’ll need to do a little tweaking to figure out how this output got generated (maybe it is mixing up results from multiple diagnostic runs). Nothing to worry about, just something odd I wasn’t expecting to see.
Only unexpected item for me was the request for a new address after the update, which I went ahead and consented. Other than that, everything worked as before. I had not stopped the service, but assumed the update would restart it. I stopped it after the last run. Perhaps I’ll start things up again in a bit to see if the same ab3e922c is reported.
This was an error on my end. It basically shipped with two components that were from different versions of the app (so the report ended up containing signatures that shouldn’t normally be seen together). It doesn’t invalidate the reports, but wasn’t as useful as it could be. I’ve fixed this in the latest release (both services are updated).

I’m looking at a Goldshell HS5 that someone is selling locally for what seems like a very favourable price. Is it fair to say there is now good confidence that this model will work? It’s a lot more electricity than I would like to burn (residential), and will need to rig 240Vac to my garage … but I want to support the new chain.
The HS5 hasn’t specifically been tested (on my app at least) so I can’t say for sure. But three other Goldshell ASICs have all tested successfully, so the odds are good.
Keep in mind that besides power consumption, the fans on that model will be very loud.

Has anybody found an alternative source for home Sia miners?
I would recommend people who are new to mining or don’t understand how altcoin algorithms work to be cautious and do research before spending your money. I personally wouldn’t be buying any new mining hardware right now unless I was looking to experiment with it.
Update my services to the latest versions, and try another compatibility report. It should hopefully capture a little more information this time.
Hey Paul, have you received the Innosilicon S11 yet and had a chance to test it with the BLAKE2b DATUM/Knots setup? If so, does it connect and submit accepted shares/blocks on stock firmware? Also curious if you ran into any S11-specific Stratum or firmware issues. Thanks for doing all this testing.
It arrived today and I just finished testing. I didn’t run into any issues (other than the crazy long time it takes to tune itself, not related to Datum Gateway). This one is compatible. Details below:

I picked up two S11s before your test result, so this is what I was hoping to hear.
When mine arrive I’m planning to test them against your testnet4 Knots/DATUM setup. Is s11_20190424_095412 the firmware you’d recommend I stay on if mine already have it? And if they have a different firmware version, would it be useful for you if I test that version and report the results?
Also, is there anything specific you’d like me to capture from the S11/DATUM logs while testing two units simultaneously?
Nothing in particular. Of course if you see anything unusual happening, it might be good to dig in further. I don’t know if the 1 September release is still on the table, but if so the next test will be to hook everything up in mainnet and see what shakes out. If they aren’t ready yet to meet the original target date, then next best is mining on testnet4 for a while to see how the ASICs hold up over longer periods of up time.
I’m not as plugged into the hard fork as a lot of other folks, so I’m not sure about the progress on some of the other essential components, like the indexer (electrs, Fulcrum, etc) and wallet (Sparrow, etc). I assume these are in the works, but if they aren’t ready on go-live day, then my electrs and Sparrow forks are working on testnet4, so should also work on mainnet.
On a related topic (for those who plan to follow both chains) I’ve also gotten a couple of PRs merged by Start9 into their bitcoin-rpc-proxy which enable connecting a full stack (Datum Gateway, Mempool, electrs, and Sparrow) to a pruned node. These are published, and they are working on the legacy chain. I have one more open PR to also enable this for the new chain, so once it is merged this will give more optionality about which chain to keep as your primary full node and which to use for your secondary pruned node.
